Located in the Boom Gorge, within the boundaries of the Kyzyl-Oktyabr rural municipality of the Kemin district, is a mountain known as "Mother-in-law's Tongue."

Local resident Talai Asanov reported that this name originated from Russian settlers who first arrived in these lands.

According to villager Karachach Osmonova, there are no legends or myths about the mountain related to its name.

“I asked the local elders about the origin of the name. Surprisingly, there were no mythical stories. The name appeared with the arrival of the Russians. By that time, the shape on the slope of the hill seemed to them similar to a tongue, and thus the mountain got its name 'Mother-in-law's Tongue.' This really interests many,” Osmonova noted.
