It is worth noting that discussions regarding the implementation of the jury system in Kyrgyzstan have been ongoing for many years; however, a decision on this matter is still being postponed.
Last year, President Sadyr Japarov signed a law suspending the provision on jurors in the courts of Kyrgyzstan and certain aspects of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The law states that for the effective functioning of the jury system, appropriate conditions must be created, including the identification of funding sources and the development of necessary infrastructure. In this regard, the law on jurors and Chapter 45 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been suspended until January 1, 2035.
