Modern treatment methods are also being actively implemented at the institute. For example, in the past month, five surgeries were performed using a minimally invasive technique — mini-thoracotomy. Specialists conduct surgeries based on life indications for patients with serious cardiovascular diseases, including newborns.
In addition, regular computed tomography for complex congenital heart defects has been organized at the institution, temporarily taking place at the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy on Saturdays. A new echocardiography machine has also been acquired, which has strengthened the diagnostic service and optimized the work of the consultative and diagnostic department, helping to reduce waiting times, especially for children with congenital heart defects.
After returning to the main building, the institute plans to increase the volume of high-tech cardiac surgical assistance, improve the accessibility of consultations, and strengthen its human resources.
