In Bishkek and the Chui Region, strong winds tore off roofs and toppled trees

Strong winds that swept through Bishkek and the Chui region caused damage to buildings, fallen trees, and other destruction. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

As of 11:55, in the Lenin district of the capital, on Moskovskaya Street, the wind tore off the roof of a multi-story building, which fell onto a neighboring structure, posing a threat to residents. Additionally, on Bakayev and Intergelpo streets, the wind damaged roofs and knocked down trees.

In the Kok-Zhar residential area, the roof of a private house collapsed, and one of the fallen trees hung on power lines. Furthermore, elements of the exterior finishing of a multi-story building fell onto two cars.

Similar situations were reported in the Chui region. In the villages of Zhar-Bashy (Ysyk-Ata district), Malovodnoe (Sokuluk district), and Belovodskoye (Moscow district), the wind also damaged roofs and knocked down trees. In the rural area of Kurpuldok in the Panfilov district, the roof of a local school was torn off.

Rescue services were dispatched to address the aftermath of the incidents. In particular, five MES employees are working on Moskovskaya Street in Bishkek. An operational group has been established in the Panfilov district to assess the situation regarding the school.

Additionally, the MES reminded that Kyrgyzhydromet had previously issued a storm warning about strong winds in Bishkek and the Chui region with gusts of up to 15–20 m/s.
