The Ministry of Culture will hold a competition to select the best project
The initiative to install a copy of the world map created in the 11th century by Mahmud Kashgari-Barskani was announced by State Secretary Arslan Koichiev. The information was provided by the press service of the President's administration.
On this map, which was created during the Islamic Renaissance in Central Asia, Issyk-Kul is marked as the center of the world.
This initiative is timed to the millennium of Mahmud Kashgari-Barskani's birth and will be implemented in Bishkek.
As stated in the directive, the Ministry of Culture will be responsible for selecting the best project through a competitive process.
