In the Kochkor district, at the museum named after Osmonaly Sydyk uulu, you can see a unique leather vessel known as "zhelinche."

This historical item dates back to the 18th century and is a rare specimen made from a cow's udder. It was traditionally used to store melted butter and cream.

"During the World Nomad Games in 2014, we showcased exhibits from our museum. At that time, a local resident, Abdrazak from Naryn, became interested in the purpose of this item and noted that he had never seen a similar exhibit anywhere else," shared museum employee Maksut Abdygazy uulu.

According to him, "zhelinche" is a household item made from two goat udders and was used like a modern baby bottle. By sewing the udder together and pouring milk into it, nomads fed weakened lambs and calves, as well as small children, filling the vessel with milk and kumis. This item was indispensable in nomadic life for feeding infants while traveling on horseback," he added.

"Zhelinche" was made in such a way that the nipples of the udder faced outward. This ensured its durability and softness, allowing children to suck comfortably. Even if the udder became hard, it would soften again with use," said Maksut Abdygazy uulu.
