The sports program for the VI World Nomad Games, organized by the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture, and Sports, was announced in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the director of this agency, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, the events of the VI WNG are scheduled for 2026 in Cholpon-Ata, with the opening taking place on August 31 at the under-construction "Bishkek Arena" stadium. The main competitions will start on September 2.
As part of the upcoming games, competitions in 43 traditional and national sports are planned, with participation from over 100 countries—a record for this event.
“At the first WNG in 2014, only 19 countries participated, and today the number of participants continues to grow. More and more countries are joining this unique sports and cultural project,” noted Moldazhiyev.
He also pointed out that the timing of the games coincides with the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which, according to the organizers, will attract additional attention from the international community to this event.
Among the innovations of the VI World Nomad Games are the unique contests "Great Kok-Boru Player" and "Great Kok-Boru Horse," which will be included in the program for the first time.
In addition to sports events, exhibitions and cultural zones will be organized for participants and guests.
“This is not only a sports event but also a strong impetus for the development of tourism and the promotion of the national heritage of the Kyrgyz Republic,” he added.
