From September 1 to 6, the VI World Nomad Games (WNG) will take place at the new "Bishkek-Arena" stadium. This was announced by the Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, Mirbek Mambetaliev.
According to him, President Sadyr Japarov is personally overseeing the preparations for the Games, and the organizing committee is led by the head of the president's office, Kanibek Tumanbaev.
“The opening of the Nomad Games will coincide with the SCO summit and the celebration of Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day, so special attention is being paid to this event,” the official added. The Ministry of Culture plans to allocate more than 500 million soms for the organization of the events. “As before, the Nomad Games will be held on the shores of Issyk-Kul. An ethnovillage will be constructed, and equestrian competitions will take place at the racetrack. We also plan to use the Center for Nomadic Civilization in the village of Ornok and the 'Rukh Ordo' complex,” Mambetaliev said.
Guests from 89 countries are expected to attend the World Nomad Games. These international sporting competitions encompass ethnic sports traditional to the historically nomadic peoples of Central Asia.
