In an interview with AKIpress, the Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev shared plans for the construction of new cultural facilities and the major renovation of theaters in various cities and villages.

The minister reported that the Issyk-Kul Regional Musical Drama Theater named after K. Zhantoshiev in Karakol is in critical condition.

“The building consists of several blocks, and unfortunately, one of them has started to settle. We received a conclusion from the Institute of Seismology confirming its emergency condition, and with the support of the president, we plan to begin the major construction of a new theater in 2026,” Mambetaliev noted.

He also spoke about the intention to carry out major repairs on the theater in the village of Kochkor in the Naryn region. Although the building's frame is in good condition, the insulation of the walls was not taken into account during construction. In 2025, the ministry will allocate about 7 million soms to the theater, and next year, it plans to allocate about 15 million soms for improving the facade and landscaping the area.

“A new philharmonic hall is also planned to be built in Manas. In addition, a new cultural center will be constructed in the Moscow district, in the village of Belovodskoye, which will combine a library, a museum, and a hall for 300-350 seats for performances and concerts,” the Minister of Culture added.
