The concert instrument, model D-274, installed in the Malachite Hall, was specifically purchased for the needs of the opera theater.

The head of the Ministry of Culture, Mirbek Mambetaliev, reported that musicians had long requested an upgrade of the piano since the early 1990s, but this issue remained unresolved until recently. In December, the ministry finally purchased a new piano and handed it over to the theater.

According to the department, there are currently about twenty manufacturers of concert pianos in the world, but 94% of renowned pianists choose Steinway instruments for performances with symphony orchestras.
