In Kyrgyzstan, grants totaling $100,000 are planned to be allocated for 100 rural municipalities, which will help improve the condition of pastures. This information was announced today at a meeting of the committee on agrarian policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection of the Jogorku Kenesh by the head of the Agricultural Projects Implementation Department (APID) at the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture, Tamchybek Tuleev.

Tuleev noted that there are a total of 230 rural municipalities in the country.

“As a result of the competition, 100 rural municipalities were selected to receive assistance of $100,000 for effective pasture management. These funds will be provided by the state in the form of loans from donors. Of this amount, $70,000 will be allocated for the restoration of pastures, while the remaining $30,000 will go towards activities aimed at reducing the load on pastures, such as creating additional workshops for livestock feed production. This will help reduce the time livestock spend on pastures,” he added.

According to Tuleev, the current state of pastures raises serious concerns. “Urgent measures need to be taken for their restoration. We are implementing projects in this area with the help of donors,” he concluded.
