The mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, conducted an inspection of the sediment reservoir located in the Manka-Zhar area and discussed issues with local residents. The press service of the city hall reported this event.

During his inspection, the mayor assured that there are currently no expected sediment processes, and the current weather conditions do not pose a threat to the safety of residents and the city's infrastructure. Everything is under the control of city services.

According to the city hall, as a result of heavy rainfall in 2023-2024, residential houses in areas such as "Archa-Beshik," "Zher-Intymagy," and "Orok" were flooded.

As part of the efforts to improve the situation, 6,000 tons of waste were removed, two dams that can hold 1,615 cubic meters were cleared, and two new sediment reservoirs were built in the villages of Lower and Upper Orok with a total capacity of up to 42,000 cubic meters.

Municipality representatives noted that thanks to the measures taken, flooding was avoided in 2025, and more than 260 residential houses are protected from potential natural disasters.

At the end of the meeting, the mayor instructed the need to clear the irrigation network within residential areas and to complete all planned works on time.
