An event aimed at protecting mountain ecosystems and developing ecotourism will take place in the Chon-Kemin Valley
A significant ecological event is planned in the Kemin area — a festival called "Snow Leopard EcoFest - Kemin 2026." This was announced by Almaz Musaev, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.
Musaev noted that this project aims to preserve the natural heritage of the country and promote the principles of sustainable development.
The main goal of the festival is to unite the efforts of government structures, businesses, and civil society to protect the snow leopard — the symbol of Kyrgyzstan's highlands.
The festival program focuses on raising ecological awareness and supporting local initiatives in the field of "green" tourism.
Organizers emphasize that the choice of the Chon-Kemin Valley is not accidental: holding the festival in this area will help draw attention to the vulnerability of mountain ecosystems and the need for their protection.
