Foreign teachers are proposed to be exempted from taxes and payments in Kyrgyzstan

Deputy Altynbek Kudayberdiev presented a draft law under which foreign teachers working in Kyrgyzstan could be exempt from taxes. This initiative is already available for discussion on the official website of the Jogorku Kenesh.

To improve the educational environment and attract foreign specialists, Kudayberdiev proposes the following measures:

exemption of foreign teachers' income from income tax;
exemption from mandatory insurance contributions;
provision of the opportunity to obtain a temporary residence permit;
exemption from VAT on the import of modern educational equipment;
tax benefits for educational institutions regardless of their form of ownership.

Kudayberdiev noted that foreign specialists usually work under short-term contracts and do not accumulate pension rights in Kyrgyzstan, making mandatory insurance contributions socially ineffective. The introduction of the proposed norms will reduce administrative barriers and simplify the employment process for foreign teachers.
