In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a large-scale update of the electrical networks will begin. The Bishkek electric network enterprise announced plans to lay and reconstruct over 40,700 km of modern SIP cables. These works will start in March and last until November, focusing on key areas of the city to prepare the networks for the autumn-winter season of 2026–2027.
The project includes work in various districts of the capital:
- Eastern RES — 4.5 km
- Western RES — 21,420 km
- Northern RES — 19,272 km
The main goals of this project are:
- replacing outdated power lines with new, more reliable ones
- transitioning to modern insulated SIP wires
- installing new poles and strengthening existing ones
- expanding networks to connect new subscribers in residential areas
- reducing the load on old lines
- decreasing technological losses of electricity

The implementation of this project aims to improve the quality and reliability of electricity supply, reduce accidents in the networks, and minimize electricity losses during transmission, which will create conditions for connecting new consumers and ensure the reliable operation of the energy system during the winter season.
These measures are expected to significantly increase the capacity of the electrical networks and enhance their reliability during the peak loads of the autumn-winter period.
The project is financed by the funds of JSC "NESC".
