Citizens are reminded to exercise caution
As the New Year holidays approach, there is an active spread of fraudulent links on social media and messaging apps, disguised as greetings, giveaways, and various gifts. This information was provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Law enforcement agencies report that scammers are sending messages promising cash prizes, bonuses, or gifts on behalf of government institutions, banks, or well-known individuals. When citizens click on such links, they are asked to enter personal data, bank card information, or confirmation codes. This information is then used to steal money and hack accounts.
Ministry of Internal Affairs officials strongly advise citizens to remain vigilant, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and not to share personal information, even if the message appears to be an official greeting or comes from an acquaintance.
If there has been a leak of personal data or suspicions of fraud arise, it is necessary to immediately contact the internal affairs authorities at the number 102.
