34-year-old Bediarbek Kadyrbek uulu, the champion of Kyrgyzstan in sambo, has been officially appointed as a "Baatyr" for the Jalal-Abad region. As part of the cultural project "Birimdik Kerbeni" ("Caravan of Unity"), he has been entrusted with an important task — to transport sacred water from the spring near the mausoleum of the prophet Idris in Chatkal to the capital of the country.

A special working group was created to select candidates in the office of the presidential representative in the Jalal-Abad region. Out of 19 candidates, Bediarbek Kadyrbek uulu, an employee of the special forces regiment of the Jalal-Abad regional police, was chosen. His candidacy stands out not only for his sports achievements but also for his physical attributes (202 cm tall).

He became the champion of Kyrgyzstan in sambo in 2021 and is also a prizewinner of the Gordeev Championship and a medalist of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Championship of Kyrgyzstan (2023).

The working group selected the water source — an underground spring at the mausoleum of the prophet Idris in Chatkal. The ceremony for collecting water in a special vessel — "kökör" — will take place from June 10 to June 15.

"Caravan of Unity" is a national water relay that symbolizes the value of life and the unity of the people of Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the World Nomad Games. The selection of "baatyrs," ambassadors of the project, and significant water sources in the regions will be completed by June 2026.

In June 2026, the main "baatyr" will ascend to the glaciers of Khan-Tengri Peak to fill the main "kökör" with meltwater, while ceremonial events for filling regional vessels will take place in the regions.

By August 15, 2026, "baatyrs" from all seven regions will deliver their vessels to Bishkek to the main water storage site, which will be open to visitors.

On August 31, 2026, the day of the opening of the VI World Nomad Games, a ceremonial caravan will head to the stadium in the capital.

According to the organizers, during the opening ceremony, water from all regions of Kyrgyzstan and water brought by delegations from participating countries will be combined into a single stream. This ritual will symbolize global unity, harmony, and respect among nations.
