On Chyngyz Aitmatov Avenue, between the Southern Highway and Semetey Street, the construction of four underground pedestrian crossings began on January 1. By January 9, the work had progressed to the stage of backfilling the structures with soil.
The first of the crossings, which is closest to the Southern Highway, has already been backfilled. Although the soil has not yet reached full compaction, it is planned that after this stage is completed, asphalt laying will begin.
For the construction of each crossing, 27 reinforced concrete blocks are used. The dimensions of each block are 4.4 meters in width and 3.1 meters in height. After the work is completed, the width of the pedestrian passage will be 4 meters, and the height will be 2.5 meters. All blocks and the concrete base have been treated with waterproofing in advance.
