- During his working trip to the Kemin district, Azamat Osmonov visited a site where sand and gravel extraction was taking place in the bed of the Chu River, on the southern side of the village of Altymysh. This was reported by the press service of the presidential representative in the Chui region.
During the visit, it was established that the work was being carried out by an economic entity that had permission to develop an area of only 0.10 hectares. However, the actual scale of extraction turned out to be significantly larger — about 4 hectares, which is a serious violation of the permitted boundaries.
“It was found that the work was being carried out without the necessary permits and legal documents. At the same time, the subsoil user referred to a contract for the cleaning of a water body located near the sluices of the OJSC 'Chakan HPP', situated approximately 800 meters from the work site. However, this contract does not grant rights for the extraction of sand and gravel and cannot serve as a legal basis for operations in the riverbed,” the statement said.
According to the conclusion of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the work carried out caused damage to the bed of the Chu River and was conducted without permits, creating a risk of emergencies.
Materials regarding the identified violations have been sent to law enforcement agencies for further investigation.
