In the Batken region, ibex were spotted on the recently opened road from Sary-Talaa to Zardaly, which was captured on video by local residents.

According to data obtained from a population count of these animals at the end of 2025, there are 144 ibex in the region.

Ecologists working in the area noted that despite active construction work, the appearance of wild animals indicates that the natural environment in this place remains relatively preserved.

Adult ibex typically move alone or in small groups. In calm areas, they are active during the day, while in regions with high poaching levels, they prefer nocturnal activity. Their diet mainly consists of herbaceous vegetation. They reach sexual maturity at about 2.5 years, and the mating season occurs in November and December. In April-May, females give birth to one or two kids, which nurse from their mothers until October, and sometimes longer.

The main threats to ibex are poaching and harsh winter conditions when there is a lot of snow. Their natural enemies include wolves, snow leopards, and, in some cases, bears.

On December 25, 2025, Turmush reported that a new road costing 888.9 million soms was opened, connecting Sary-Talaa, Kyzyl-Tash, and Zardaly.

At the IV People's Kurultai, attended by President Sadyr Japarov, an online opening of several social and industrial facilities took place, including the road to Zardaly.

The village of Zardaly, located in the mountains of the Batken region, is situated 110 kilometers from the district center. It can be reached by two routes — by road and on foot. Previously, due to high mountain passes, traffic was halted in winter, from October to May, due to heavy snowfall. Residents had to cover about 6.2 kilometers along the Koyeshken River on foot or on horseback.

According to the president's instructions, the road from the village of Sary-Talaa to Kyzyl-Tash, which is 11 kilometers long and 3-4 meters wide, was widened to 6 meters. A new section 7 kilometers long was also built from Kyzyl-Tash to Zardaly, and a 30-meter metal bridge was constructed over the Koyeshken River, ensuring full automobile communication.

According to the project, the new road reduced the distance by 26 kilometers. Additionally, vehicle movement will now be possible year-round, as snow does not accumulate on this route.
The total length of the Sary-Talaa – Kyzyl-Tash – Zardaly road is 18 kilometers, and its construction cost is 888.9 million soms.
