ORT-2025. Girls Received More Grants in Universities and Outperformed Boys in Scores

During the nationwide testing in 2025, 4,220 girls were admitted to grant-funded places in universities, while the number of boys who received places was 2,883. This data is presented in the report by the Center for Assessment in Education and Teaching Methods (CAETM) here.

According to the report, the average score of girls on the main test was 6.7 points higher than that of boys — 130.1 compared to 123.4. This trend has been observed in previous years as well.

The difference in results for mathematics this year was only 0.3 points. In comparison, in 2024, girls demonstrated a score that was 1 point higher than boys in the "Mathematics" section here.

In the "Analogies and Sentence Completion" section, girls also showed higher results, surpassing boys by 1.9 points. The difference in the "Reading and Comprehension" test was 1.3 points in favor of girls, while in "Practical Grammar of the Chosen Language of Testing" it was 3.7 points. This part of the test is generally easier for girls.

The results of the testing in the state language were similar to the main data: girls scored 0.3 points more than boys (3.1 compared to 2.8).

As for the subject tests, differences in results are also noticeable. With the exception of mathematics and physics, there were more girls than boys among those who took the test.

However, in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and English, boys achieved higher results, with a difference of about 0.5 points in the natural sciences and 2.8 points in English.
In subjects such as history, Kyrgyz language and literature, as well as Russian language and literature, girls traditionally achieved better results.

In history, the difference was 0.5 points, while in Kyrgyz language and literature it was 7.7 points, and in Russian language and literature it was 6.5 points in favor of girls.
