The testing results showed the following levels of language proficiency:
- 23.8% - high level;
- 52.6% - above average level;
- 21.9% - average level;
- 1.7% - below average level.
Among the students enrolled in grant-based education in 2025, 46% have a high level of proficiency in the Kyrgyz language, 44% have an above-average level, 9% have an average level, and only 1% have a below-average level.
In turn, for the contract-based education last year, 30% of applicants demonstrated a high level of language knowledge, 52% - above average, 16% - at an average level, and 2% - below average.
The test in the state language is mandatory for all applicants wishing to enroll in universities in Kyrgyzstan and serves to assess their knowledge of the Kyrgyz language.
The test consists of 50 questions that take into account the age of the participants and the lexical minimum corresponding to educational programs for schools with Kyrgyz and Russian languages of instruction.
By the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science, the results of the state language test do not affect the competitive scores when enrolling in universities in 2024 and 2025. However, certificates for the main and subject tests (MST) are not issued without successfully passing the Kyrgyz language test.
