In the first round of the winter admission to higher educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan, which recently concluded, 228 applicants were enrolled. Of these, 193 individuals were granted the opportunity to study in full-time mode, while 35 were enrolled in part-time studies. According to information posted on the "Abiturient Online" portal, 301 vouchers were registered, and universities recommended 299 of them for enrollment. The highest number of vouchers was submitted to Osh State University (76), Kyrgyz Economic University (48), Kyrgyz-Russian Academy of Education (32), and Kyrgyz National University (28). Among all enrolled students, 62 chose medicine, 54 opted for pedagogy, 30 for information technology, 24 for economics and finance, 20 for law, while the rest were distributed across other specialties. It is important to note that the first round of winter admission started in late December 2025, and the next round will begin on January 12. A total of four rounds are planned. The winter admission is organized for the enrollment of applicants exclusively in contract places, which ensures expanded access to higher education for both citizens of Kyrgyzstan and foreign students.
