According to the European Climate Change Monitoring Service Copernicus (C3S), the year 2025 was among the three hottest years on record.

At the presentation of the report "Global Climate Indicators," C3S Deputy Director Samantha Burgess noted that 2024 was the warmest year since meteorological observations began, with the temperature in 2025 being only 0.01 degrees Celsius lower than in 2023 and 0.13 degrees lower than in 2024.

According to Copernicus, average global temperatures from 2023 to 2025 exceeded the level by 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to the pre-industrial period. This is the first time that this threshold has been exceeded for three consecutive years.

Experts warn that if the pace of global warming continues, the Paris Agreement established in 2015 could be breached 10 years earlier than planned, jeopardizing the allowable average temperature increase of 1.5 degrees Celsius.
