In the Dair Aasanov Recreation Park, located within the Memorial Complex dedicated to the Leningrad Blockade, a commemorative event took place on January 16, marking the day of the city's blockade lifting.
According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Defense, the ceremony was attended by Colonel Almazbek Kulmurzaev, who holds the position of Deputy Minister of Defense, as well as relatives of those who did not return from the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War.

During the event, archival documents concerning soldiers who went missing during the war were handed over to their relatives. These documents were the result of digitization work carried out by the staff of the military lyceum at the request of the Ministry of Defense, based on materials from the Central Archive of Russia.

The lifting of the blockade of Leningrad occurred on January 18, 1943, but January 27, 1944, became a significant day when the city was finally liberated. During the blockade, more than 16,000 residents of Leningrad were evacuated to Kyrgyzstan, among whom were about 3,500 children.

One of those who participated in caring for the children evacuated from besieged Leningrad was Kyrgyzstani Toktogon Altybasarova, who raised 150 such children.
