In the city of Osh, there is a proposal to name one of the streets after Bayaman Erkinbaev, a member of the Jogorku Kenesh who has passed away. This was announced by Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev on January 10 during an inspection of the demolition of illegal constructions in the A. Navoi Park.

The mayor noted that it has already been 12 months since Erkinbaev's family promised to independently dismantle the "Palvan-Saray" building located in the park. "Since this was announced, all we hear is: 'I will do it tomorrow, the day after tomorrow.' It is necessary to hold a meeting and discuss this with them. If they demolish it, that would be good; if not, we will take care of the demolition ourselves and lease the plot. Last year, we already cleared this area, and since then no one has been monitoring it," Toktorbaev said.

According to the mayor, "Palvan-Saray" occupies several plots in the park, and its demolition will free up significant territory. This facility was built 30–35 years ago and was used for sporting events under Erkinbaev's supervision, but after the events of 2005, it became abandoned.

We remind you that Bayaman Erkinbaev was killed on September 21, 2005, in Bishkek.

The demolition of illegal constructions in the A. Navoi Park began in August 2025, when it was decided to eliminate 11 structures. So far, the demolition of nine of them has been completed, and work on the remaining ones is ongoing. Although the court ruled that the land plots should be transferred to municipal ownership, the former owners continued to use the buildings despite warnings.

The municipal property management reported that the demolished objects previously belonged to Omurbek Tekebaev, Cholpon Sultanbekova, and the late Erkinbaev. Out of the 11 objects, seven are located within 50 meters of the water protection zone, which violates existing legislative norms.

It should be noted that previous attempts to free the water protection zones were made, but there was a lack of political will. Currently, the work is being carried out with the participation of the owners.

Demolition work has also begun in the city on illegally constructed buildings in the water protection zone of the Ak-Buura River, including a dental clinic and a restaurant that belonged to high-ranking officials. The water protection zone typically ranges from 6 to 50 meters depending on the type of water body.
