In Cholpon-Ata, local deputies approved changes to the names of several streets and objects. This decision was made at a meeting on December 16, 2025.
As stated in the resolution, the basis for the changes were requests from the city mayor's office received on December 9 and 11, 2025. In accordance with the law "On Geographical Names in the Kyrgyz Republic" and the rules approved by the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution dated March 25, 2025, No. 149, the city council agreed to the following changes:
– Akmatbay Ata Street, located to the west of Ch. Aitmatov Alley, will be renamed to Chyngyz Aitmatov Street;
– An unnamed perpendicular street located to the east of the village of Baktyu-Dolonotu will be given the name "Baktyu-Dolonotu".
In addition, the deputies agreed to name the new kindergarten built in microdistrict No. 2 of Cholpon-Ata "Akyilman".
The city mayor's office has been instructed to ensure the implementation of this resolution.
