The construction began in July 2025 and is being carried out by the companies "China Road" and "Alkatash." As part of the project, a new sewage treatment plant is being built, capable of processing 14,200 cubic meters of wastewater per day. Currently, the earthworks for 12 pumping stations have been completed, and the project is moving to the next stage.
Upon completion of the construction, the centralized sewage system will cover the city of Cholpon-Ata, as well as the villages of Bosteri, Baktyu-Dolonotu, and Kara-Oy. There are plans to connect all the boarding houses, guest houses, and other facilities in these areas to the system. To date, only 30-40% of Cholpon-Ata residents have access to the sewage system.
It is expected that all work will be completed by the end of 2027.
