On January 7, the opening of four streets took place in Osh after reconstruction work was completed.

According to the city administration, the works on the streets of the Toloykon microdistrict have been completed: Karymov, Teshybaev, Amatbekov, and Tutashov. These road sections, despite their importance for traffic flow, previously caused numerous problems for local residents and drivers.

Representatives of the local authorities and deputies of the city council attended the event.

Mayor Jengishbek Toktorbaev had previously inspected the condition of these roads and issued instructions for their improvement. As a result, today he officially opened the new sections and allowed traffic on them.

The reconstructed roads have a total length of 1200 meters, with bidirectional sidewalks for pedestrians measuring 2400 meters.
The width of the roadway has increased by 10–12 meters compared to previous parameters, and an irrigation system has also been installed.

During the opening of one of the streets, deputy of the Osh city council Ilkhomzhan Karimov decided to present the mayor with a sword as a gift.

Initially, Toktorbaev stated that he does not accept gifts, but one of the elders asked him to make an exception. Deputy Karimov clarified that the sword has an engraving that reads "To the beloved mayor," and it comes with a special stand.

To this, someone present remarked, "This is not a bribe, it's a gift." The local aksakal added, "Now we need a horse to wield the sword."

To which Toktorbaev replied, "I have a horse."

Deputy Karimov continued, "This is real metal; it cannot be sharpened. It will be very sharp…".
