At the checkpoint "Dostuk" between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, a new 45-meter flagpole has been installed. Surrounding it, landscaping work has been carried out, and now this place has become a modern space for recreation, reported the Osh city administration.

The project was initiated by the mayor, Jenishbek Toktorbaev. In honor of the opening, the state flag of the Kyrgyz Republic was raised on the flagpole, after which the facility was officially put into operation.

At the opening ceremony, the mayor, chairman of the city council Bolot Bayetov, deputies, consuls from neighboring countries, and local residents were present.

Previously, there was a gas station on this site, which was dismantled. After that, the area was landscaped, paving stones were laid, and benches were installed. The idea for the improvement arose during an on-site visit by Toktorbaev, who personally inspected the area.

The city administration noted that the improvement of the appearance of the area at the checkpoint is aimed at creating a comfortable public space and enhancing the appearance of the border zone.
