“For 35 years, I lived in a barrack that was only two meters away from the railway. This house was very old and could collapse at any moment. Six families lived in this barrack. Last year, railway workers came and demanded that we vacate our home, stating that it was on their territory. We were scared that we would be left without housing, so we decided to appeal to the city mayor,” she said.
Fortunately, the city authorities heard our appeal and built six new houses for our families in one of the modern residential areas. We found ourselves in completely new conditions that can be described as magical. Now we live in bright and comfortable homes. One of my neighbors, who moved with her daughter due to health issues, also now lives in a new house. Balikchy, which previously did not receive proper attention, is gradually developing, and the changes are evident,” Bayseitova added.
According to local authorities, the new residential area is equipped with electricity and a clean water supply system. In addition, there are plans to repair the internal streets and organize a minibus route in the future to improve transportation links.
