A rare incident occurred in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China: a snow leopard attacked a person. According to local news sources, this happened on Friday evening in Fuyun County, near the village of Talat and the settlement of Koktokay.

A skier returning to his hotel after an active day on the slopes became the victim of an unexpected attack by the predator, which jumped out from a forested area near the road. The man, dressed in a purple ski suit, fell into the snow after the attack, while the snow leopard remained nearby for some time. Eyewitnesses to the incident were able to scare the animal away.

As a result of the attack, the skier sustained lacerations to his face and was urgently hospitalized. Medical personnel provided the necessary assistance and stabilized his condition, and fortunately, the victim's life is not in danger.

In response to the incident, local authorities have increased security measures, enhancing patrols in the area. Additionally, they have begun conducting briefings for tourists, emphasizing the importance of caution in potential encounters with wildlife. Videos from the scene have appeared on social media, capturing both the victim and the snow leopard nearby.
