Traffic on the highway has been restored after the fire was extinguished



On January 25, 2026, a fire occurred at the 140th kilometer of the Bishkek–Osh highway in the Jayil district of the Chui region due to the ignition of a fuel tanker carrying petroleum products. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to the agency, the alarm about the fire was received by emergency services, and at 11:36, one fire truck from the Jayil district fire station No. 22 was dispatched to the scene. The fire was completely extinguished by 14:44.

As a result of this incident, two people died, and their identities are currently being established. After all necessary work was completed, traffic on the highway was restored, and transportation is now being conducted without any obstacles.
