The date of the referendum on the Constitution of Kazakhstan has been announced. The President signed the decree.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, signed a decree initiating a referendum on constitutional reform issues. This was reported by Tengrinews.kz, citing information from Akorda.

According to the decree, the referendum is scheduled for March 15.

In anticipation of this event, members of the Constitutional Commission presented the results of their work on the draft of the new Constitution. The President noted that the changes to the Fundamental Law signify the completion of the process of transforming Kazakhstan's institutional structure and the transition to a new constitutional format.

Tokayev also added that the new draft Constitution not only aligns with current social values and principles of state policy but also lays the foundation for the long-term progressive development of the country.
