In Kyrgyzstan, changes are planned for mandatory housing insurance: the threshold for payouts in the event of earthquakes will be lowered from six to five points. This means that compensation will now be provided even in the case of moderate tremors. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Benazir Nurlanova presented the relevant amendments to the legislation at today's meeting of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to Benazir Nurlanova, this decision is aimed at improving the social protection of citizens.

Cases where moderate earthquakes can cause significant damage are not uncommon.

Following the discussion, the deputies of the relevant committee approved these changes in the first reading.
