Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic: There are 22,000 Kyrgyz citizens in the Gulf countries

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has provided clarifications regarding the situation of its citizens in the Gulf countries and the Middle East. The Director of the Consular Department, Seytek Jumakadyrov uulu, reported that currently, there have been no recorded cases of Kyrgyz citizens being harmed, and no requests for emergency evacuation have been received.

According to the information, there are about 22,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in this region. The largest number of them is in the United Arab Emirates (about 10,000) and Saudi Arabia, where approximately 6,000 Kyrgyz citizens are performing Umrah. Additionally, there are significant communities in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, where more than a thousand people live in total. In Iran and Israel, there are 100 citizens of Kyrgyzstan each, and their safety is also being monitored.

The most serious logistical problems are observed in Dubai and Qatar, where about 1,000 and 800 Kyrgyz citizens are temporarily staying, respectively. Diplomats in Dubai are working around the clock and have already processed over a thousand inquiries. An important task for them has been negotiations with hotels: 800 citizens have exceeded their stay, and consuls are trying to ensure that they are not evicted until the situation is resolved. In Qatar and Abu Dhabi, work is being carried out in a similar direction, although the accommodation issues there are less acute.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges citizens to remain calm, follow the official recommendations of local authorities, and maintain contact with the diplomatic institutions of Kyrgyzstan.
