Turmush continues to introduce Kyrgyzstani individuals who have found themselves beyond their homeland. Today, we will tell you about Aizhan Sadykova, who has settled in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Aizhan, originally from the village of Kyzyl-Jyldyz in the Manas district of the Talas region, was born in 1998. She currently works at a beauty salon in Doha after completing her studies at the Faculty of Finance at the International University "Atatürk-Alatoo".

Career in Qatar

“In 2019, I participated in an 'open house' event at Qatar Airways, where I interviewed for the Duty Free department. Out of 464 candidates, about 60 were selected, and I was among the first,” she shares.

Although the minimum age for employment in Qatar is 21, Aizhan managed to reach that age upon her arrival in the country. She took a position as a sales consultant at the airport, working there for three years.

Before leaving this job, Aizhan considered eyelash extensions and decided to undergo training in Kyrgyzstan, as she could not find a free master at that moment. Upon returning, she took a second job at a beauty salon, realizing that there was a high demand for this service.

In Aizhan's opinion, Qatar is a modern and safe country with a high culture and order. Here, all cultures and traditions are respected, making life comfortable for people from different corners of the world.

Qatar is considered one of the safest countries, where the crime rate is low, and laws are strictly enforced. It is also one of the richest countries with high salaries and developed infrastructure.

Personal Impressions

“I was struck by how strictly the laws are followed and how much time is valued. Employers always pay salaries on time, and employee rights are protected. Additionally, I was impressed by how people of different nationalities coexist in peace and respect,” Aizhan shares.

Having achieved success in Qatar, she was able to buy an apartment in Bishkek and send her parents on Umrah, organizing their trip to Turkey.

During her time working in Doha, she traveled a lot, visiting countries such as Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Italy, and France, as well as famous cities in Europe like Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Venice, and others. Moreover, she managed to visit California, USA, and see Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. These trips enriched her cultural experience and broadened her horizons.

“I even bought myself a car, although obtaining a driver's license in Qatar is not an easy task,” she added.

Facing Challenges

In 2019, a year after starting her job, the world faced a pandemic. “Airports closed, and we were locked down at home for 6-7 months. This time was tough, and loneliness made itself known. But the company continued to pay salaries, which was a significant support for us,” Aizhan recalls.

Being far from her loved ones was difficult for her, but this experience taught her patience. According to her, at the beginning, there were only 700-800 Kyrgyz in Qatar, but now there are significantly more, and the flow of people from the CIS has increased.

Despite the desire to meet with fellow countrymen more often, work and varying schedules make such meetings rare.

Sports, Hobbies, and Future

“In my free time, I engage in sports, maintain my health, and dance. I meet with friends from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan; we always support each other,” she shares.

In the future, Aizhan dreams of opening her own business and continuing to develop both in Qatar and Kyrgyzstan, benefiting people. She also plans to develop her blog and help more people.

Additionally, Aizhan recently married a man from Egypt. The couple currently has no children, but they have been happily married for a year.
