A married couple from the Kyzyl-Oktabrsky Aiyl Aimak of the Kemin District in the Chui Region, Jamalidin Omorov and Seyilbubu Alybaeva, have been married for over 50 years.

In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, Seyilbubu Alybaeva shared that she was born in March 1952 in the village of Kyzyl-Dyikan in the Jayil District. Her husband was born in October 1948 in the village of Zhany-Alysh in the Kemin District to a family of a collective farm worker.

Seyilbubu Alybaeva graduated from the full-time department of the Faculty of Economics at the Kyrgyz National University in 1974. Her husband received his education in the same faculty at KNU, specializing in "material and technical supply," and graduated in 1979.

After finishing her studies, Seyilbubu Alybaeva got a job at the "Kemin Electric Engineering Plant," and later worked as an economist in a collective farm, eventually becoming the chief economist. When the state farms were disbanded, she continued her work as an accountant in a cooperative.

Jamalidin Omorov worked as an accountant [conducting various types of operational accounting (volume of finished products, consumption of raw materials, materials, fuel, energy used in production)] in the collective farm, was a brigade leader, head of the garage, a dispatcher, and deputy director, and worked in the economic department.

Now both spouses are retired, working in the village health committee and are members of the Council of Elders.

According to Alybaeva, she met her future husband through a mutual friend. “We were introduced by Zholdosh, with whom we studied together. He was my husband's classmate. When I was finishing my studies, in November 1973, we got married. For some reason, we received our marriage certificate in March 1974; after the wedding, there were many concerns, studies, and household problems. When we decided to start a family, we held a 'tülöö-toy' in the village - the event was called 'Kelin aldyk.' In those years, there were no such ceremonial events as there are now. We have lived together for over 50 years, raised five children — three sons and two daughters, and now we have 12 grandchildren. I remember when we were dating, there was a scheduled bus to the village. There was a clear arrival and departure time. If you were late, that was it; you had to consider that you had missed it.

Our village is located closer to the mountains, so I tried not to be late for the bus. If I was delayed, there was no other transport. I had to spend the night at friends' houses in the district center. Even if it was late, my husband would come to meet me. I was always surprised at how he managed to get there. Later, it turned out that the village of Zhany-Alysh is located along the Frunze [now Bishkek]–Torugart highway. Cars always traveled there, even if there were not many. My husband would catch a ride with passing cars and come to see me,” she says.

Seyilbubu Apa addressed the youth: “Now living conditions are improving. When it was difficult to live, the spouses understood each other and supported one another. After starting a family, they respected each other and were patient with any situation. Everything was resolved through unity. If you respect each other, everything will turn out well. You should not be lazy, no matter what situation arises. The more a woman respects her husband, the more respect she will receive in return. Of course, I always want to stay healthy, see my grandchildren grow, and rejoice in the achievements of my children and grandchildren. Earlier, when I had free time, I had a sort of hobby — I helped my mother-in-law with felt products, did sewing, and helped make shyrdaks. When there were small pieces of felt left, I made chair pads and other trinkets from them. Together with my husband, we grow vegetables in the garden. Surrounded by our children and grandchildren, we live our happy old age,” she shared.
