In the Issyk-Kul region, in the village of Tyup, 35-year-old Elvira Sultanbaeva has been actively engaged in the art of confectionery for three years.
In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, she shared that she produces a variety of sweets, with prices reaching up to 3,000 soms. This activity provides her with a stable income, especially during peak demand seasons.
Elvira is married and raises five children: three daughters and two sons. She was born in 1989 in the village of Taldy-Suu, where she successfully completed her schooling. She then enrolled in the journalism faculty of Bishkek Humanities University, but due to family circumstances, she could only finish her second year. After getting married, she underwent training in sewing at a vocational college in Tyup.
While on maternity leave, Elvira engaged in sewing clothes, knitting, and other small jobs, which allowed her to earn seasonal income. However, her desire for self-improvement prompted her to study confectionery skills. Three years ago, she invested 15,000 soms in online baking courses, and this investment has fully paid off, providing her with a stable income.
Initially, Elvira prepared sweets exclusively for her family and friends, receiving feedback from them. Gradually, her confidence grew, and a year ago she received 100,000 soms through a social contract program, which she used to purchase the necessary equipment and open a small pastry shop. "I bake cakes, pies, and various pastries. During the autumn season, one client can order baked goods worth up to 10,000 soms. This is much more profitable than receiving a monthly allowance of 6,000 soms. For example, the most expensive cake costs 3,000 soms, half of which goes to purchasing ingredients. In the future, I plan to expand my production, create jobs, and attract assistants," Elvira Sultanbaeva shared about her plans.
