According to Sulaymanov, he always emphasizes the fact that he has a twin brother.
Asan Sulaymanov completed the first grade at the "Kengesh" secondary school in the city of Osh. After school, he entered the Osh Technological College, where he received a degree as a mechanical engineer and successfully completed his studies. Later, he continued his education at the technological faculty of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University. He also underwent training at the military department and became one of its first graduates after its opening.
He mentioned that he is a father of many children and already a grandfather. "My eldest daughter got married. My son graduated from university and followed in my footsteps — he works as a rescuer. My next daughter is studying at the medical faculty. My youngest daughter also decided to continue my path and is currently receiving education in this field. My youngest son is still in school," he shared.
Asan Sulaymanov talked about how he entered the Ministry of Emergency Situations and how his professional journey unfolded. "I joined the Ministry of Emergency Situations on July 1, 2003 — on Rescuer's Day, starting as a driver in the monitoring department. Later, I became a group commander in the rescue service. I worked in the Osh City Department in the population and territory protection department, where I held positions as deputy head of the department, head of the operational department, and then its leader. After that, I was appointed deputy head of the department for the Jalal-Abad region, where I worked for more than three years. Then I became the deputy head of the department for the Osh region, and a year later — its head. Since 2022, I have been working in the central office of the ministry as the head of the population and territory protection department," he said.
According to Sulaymanov, he has participated in international rescue operations. "After the earthquake in Turkey, we were sent for search and rescue operations. During the debris removal, we retrieved bodies of the deceased almost every hour. On the ninth day after the earthquake, while inspecting one of the multi-story buildings, we discovered signs of life and rescued a 39-year-old woman alive from under the rubble, after which we handed her over to local medical workers. In total, we retrieved 198 bodies of the deceased and saved 12 people in Turkey," he reported.
Sulaymanov spoke about the difficulties of the profession and what rescuers truly take pride in. "We chose this profession ourselves. Any job is honorable, and each has its own reasons for pride. For a rescuer, the greatest reward is to save the life of a person in distress, to arrive on time, and to provide first aid. This feeling is impossible to convey in words," he says.
On the morning of February 6, 2023, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred in southern Turkey, near the city of Gaziantep. Earthquakes were also recorded on the border with Syria. Buildings collapsed or were damaged in several Turkish and Syrian cities.
In the afternoon, a new earthquake was recorded in central Turkey. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center assessed its magnitude at 7.7.
The number of fatalities in Turkey as a result of the earthquake reached 53,537, with 107,213 injured.
The Syrian Ministry of Health reported that 711 people died and 1,431 were injured as a result of the natural disaster.
According to official data, alongside Malatya, the cities of Adana, Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Osmaniye, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, and Kilis were affected.
