The main goal of these amendments is to create favorable conditions for the development of inclusive sports in Kyrgyzstan.
According to Urmat Asanbaev, the emphasis in the proposed changes is on supporting Deaflympic sports. The amendments concern assistance to athletes with hearing impairments who demonstrate high results on the international stage.
As part of the bill, it is planned to define key concepts related to Deaflympic sports, as well as introduce a system of one-time monetary rewards for athletes and their coaches for achievements at the Deaflympic Games.
The head of the agency emphasized that the Kyrgyzstan national team has been participating in the Deaflympic Games since 2019. In 2022, the team won a gold medal at the competitions in Brazil, and at the Asia-Pacific Games in 2024, Kyrgyz athletes won 18 medals, finishing sixth in the overall team standings.
