Urmатбек Shamyрkanov is no longer serving as the Minister of Emergency Situations.

According to the president's press secretary, the reason for his resignation was allegations of corruption related to the period when he worked as deputy minister. It is specified that rumors of bribery emerged just a month after his appointment.

In particular, it is reported that during the summer months of 2025, Shamyрkanov allegedly requested a bribe for facilitating the promotion of one of the department's employees. One of the employees confirmed that he transferred part of the requested amount to the electronic wallet of the then-deputy minister.

After Shamyрkanov was appointed minister, this employee stated that he would not be able to transfer the remaining part of the money. In response, the minister transferred him to a unit in the Batken region.

The employee, now in Batken, filed a complaint with President Sadyr Japarov. The president instructed the General Prosecutor's Office to conduct an investigation into the stated facts. As a result, the supervisory body confirmed the information contained in the complaint. In this regard, President Japarov decided to relieve Shamyрkanov of his duties as Minister of Emergency Situations,” noted Askhat Alagozov.

He also emphasized that this case illustrates the saying: “A dirty deed will become evident even after forty years.”

“In our days, such unlawful actions are revealed not after forty years, but in just forty days. This should serve as a lesson for all public servants. If illegal actions become known, the country's leadership will not stand aside, even if a person has just been appointed to a high position. As in this case, decisive measures will be taken,” added Alagozov.
