At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov expressed concern that most candidates for the position of Minister of Emergency Situations have connections to corruption cases. This statement was made in the context of discussing candidates following the dismissal of his predecessor.
The head of state reported that ten candidates were proposed for consideration, but nine of them were suspected of corruption. "Is there really no decent people left in public service? We could barely find a suitable candidate," Japarov noted.
It should be reminded that earlier Urmatbek Shamyrkanov was removed from the position of Minister of Emergency Situations on suspicion of bribery.
