Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia Agree on Mutual Extradition. Law Signed

According to information from the president's administration, Sadyr Japarov signed the law "On the Ratification of the Extradition Treaty between the Kyrgyz Republic and Mongolia," which was signed on July 21, 2025, in Bishkek.

The law, which was approved by the Jogorku Kenesh on February 19, 2026, is intended to carry out the necessary procedures within the country for the extradition treaty to come into effect.

The agreement outlines the process for submitting and reviewing extradition requests, grounds for refusal, issues of temporary detention, transit, as well as the specifics of executing requests depending on the stage of the criminal process. The main goal of the document is to develop and improve cooperation in the international criminal law sphere and to strengthen collaboration in the extradition of criminals.

The law will come into effect ten days after its official publication.
