In Karakol, on Zhashtyk Street in the Pristan-Przhevalsk area, a fire broke out in a residential building on January 29.
According to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic for the Issyk-Kul region, a fire brigade from the Karakol city unit No. 15 arrived at the scene at 18:02. They were able to completely extinguish the fire by 20:02.

As a result of the fire, the roof of the residential building was destroyed, covering an area of 70 square meters. The fire damaged 22 rafters, 100 meters of battens, 40 sheets of asbestos slate, and 30 meters of boards. Fortunately, no one was injured.

As a result of the incident, a large family with four children was left homeless and was temporarily accommodated in a rented apartment. Shamsharbek Seyitbekov, the head of the family, reported that they bought the house in September for 2 million soms. Together with his wife, they are raising three daughters and a son. After the fire, the family stayed for a while in a trailer at their neighbors' place, and now, thanks to the assistance of local authorities, they have managed to find an apartment.

“We believe that the cause of the fire was the chimney of the stove. At the time of the incident, only the children were at home. Fortunately, they remained safe and unharmed. We are currently dismantling the burnt roof and cleaning the house. We need building materials, so we have reached out to the public for help,” added Shamsharbek.
