According to the information from the agency, the incident occurred on the night of January 30, 2026, around 21:45 on the access road to the village of Chyrak in the Jeti-Oguz district. An unknown driver, operating an unidentified vehicle, struck a citizen of China, born in 1969, named S. L., who was standing on the roadside. After the collision, the perpetrator fled the scene.
In order to identify the driver, special posts were organized throughout the region, and operational search activities were initiated. As a result of these actions, the head of the district road police department of the Jeti-Oguz district, A. Usubakunov, and an inspector from the regional road police search group, E. Turdakhunov, were able to detain the offender. He turned out to be a 19-year-old resident of the Jeti-Oguz district named S. S. D., who was driving a "Toyota Avensis." The vehicle was placed in a tow lot, and the driver was handed over to the investigative authorities.
