In the city of Shopokov, a driver was detained for hooliganism. It turned out that he had previously fled the scene of an accident after hitting schoolgirls.

On the night of January 7, 2026, as part of the operation "Steering Wheel," law enforcement officers stopped a BMW X5 in the residential area "Novostroyka" in the city of Shopokov, located in the Sokuluk district. The driver of the vehicle was found to have the smell of alcohol, which led to the decision to take him to the narcological department of Sokuluk, as reported by the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region.

It turned out that the driver was 28-year-old I.A., who was removed from driving the vehicle. Approaching Frunze Street in the village of Sokuluk, he attempted to leave the moving car but was stopped by a police officer.

During transportation to the narcological department, the driver exhibited aggression, using foul language and even applying physical force to the police officer, resulting in injuries to the officer and damage to his uniform.

As a result of the narcological examination, it was established that I.A. was in a state of alcohol intoxication. A forensic medical examination was appointed for the police officer, during which a closed head injury and a concussion were preliminarily identified.

In connection with these events, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 280 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Citizen I.A., born in 1993, was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.

During the investigation, it was revealed that this driver has a history of traffic violations. On February 18, 2022, while driving a "Toyota Land Cruiser 100," he hit two schoolgirls in the village of Sokuluk and fled the scene of the incident. Both victims sustained serious bodily injuries. Criminal cases were also initiated regarding this incident under Articles 312 (Violation of traffic safety rules and operation of motor vehicles) and 144 (Leaving in danger) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which are currently in court.

Investigative actions are ongoing.
