The Situation in the Country on the Morning of February 2: Avalanche Threat and Fire Report

Today, February 2, snow avalanches and blizzards are expected in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan, creating an avalanche hazard situation. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

The agency also warns of the possible formation of ice and icy conditions on several key road sections. These include:

- Bishkek—Osh road, km 198–255 (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);
- Karakol—Enilchek road, km 45–90 (Chong-Ashuu pass).

The MES recommends maintaining a distance of 500 meters between vehicles to ensure safety on the road.

In addition, over the past 24 hours, 8 fires have been recorded in the Osh, Jalal-Abad, Talas, and Issyk-Kul regions, as well as in the city of Osh. According to the fire and rescue service of the MES of the Kyrgyz Republic, 13 fire units were involved in extinguishing the fire: 4 in the Osh region, 1 in the Jalal-Abad region, 1 in the city of Osh, 1 in the Talas region, and 1 in the Issyk-Kul region.
Rescue services also conducted 2 responses to provide assistance in these situations.
