
In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a fatal road incident occurred in the Upper Jala area. According to information provided by the Bishkek City Police Department, the incident was registered on February 16, 2026, at around 07:30 AM.
The driver, a man born in 1990 named S.K., was driving a KIA K5 vehicle heading north on Tynaliyev Street. While making a left turn, he struck a girl, F.A., born in 2004, who was crossing the road from east to west.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the incident.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 312 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to violations of traffic safety rules that resulted in serious consequences due to negligence. The suspect has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The vehicle has been seized and placed in a specialized impound lot, and necessary examinations have been appointed for further investigation.
The Bishkek City Police Department urges all road users, both drivers and pedestrians, to adhere to traffic rules, to show attention and respect on the road, especially near pedestrian crossings and while making maneuvers.
