As a result of counterintelligence activities by the GKNB, facts about the criminal activity of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic named Ch.R.Z. came to light, who posed as an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to information provided by the agency, it was revealed that this person, using his alleged connections with the senior leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, deceitfully obtained 500 US dollars from a citizen named Zh.A.Z. In this regard, a criminal case was initiated against the latter by the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk District of Bishkek.
The detainee also threatened Zh.A.Z., claiming that the investigation by the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk District would soon take measures that would lead to imprisonment. He insisted that he could influence the course of the investigation and resolve the situation, demanding an additional 2,000 US dollars for his "services".
On February 18, 2026, as part of the initiated criminal case under Article 343 (extortion of a bribe) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ch.R.Z. was detained in Bishkek while receiving a bribe of 45,000 soms. He was handed over to the GKNB's Main Investigation Department and placed in a temporary detention facility.
